The proper method is shackle in the rear. If you think about it, when you climb up a rock it will try to push the axle back while the body goes up and forward. So having the shackle at the rear will allow the suspension to take the force in a upwards/backwards direction. If that makes sense. Toyota and ford did it this way for years. Jeep put the shackles in the front cause on CJ's and YJ's they are cheap and easy.

Congratulations.
I for one am not a fan of leaf springs but it's a much better option than you had going on. It's pretty difficult to mess up a leaf setup. Tho, be aware, it CAN be done. Keep us posted.
I still want to know what your caster angle was going to be!!!

I agree the rear shackle mounted leafs will work better all around, & ride softer! just make sure you have proper shackle angle, & caster angle. also that is square! personally I would be looking for a D60 to toss in there.

I was refering to the caster angle that he would have had with his fancy 2 link setup.
I ain't impressed yet.
We're already talking about 12" blocks.

no blocks on this set up but I'm gone make a little taller perches but I'm also gone be looking for a beefier set of leafs for the rear also so i won't need blocks.
