Default 1996 XJ Duck Build

Hi all,
So I picked this jeep up last Sunday from a guy i used to work with. He really didn't wanna let it go, but he needed the money to fund a project. It's a 1996 Jeep Sport with only 147,xxx miles on the body and 80,xxx miles on the motor. So first things first DEMO.

so far i have gutted the whole inside and replaced window and hatch shocks and all bumpers and fender flairs are gone. Scored this ride for 600 bucks and paid 20 for the window and shocks so far so good.

Well i plan on ordering a RC 6.5 lift and some Cragar steel wheels and then tires. Gonna cut the fenders and i'd like to rhino line the inside floor and cover the seats. I have alot of ideas i'd like to try. I used to have a few motorcycles and did alot of custom stuff to them BUT i'm having a kid so i sold them all and decided to build a bad *** rock crawling machine. Here is a pic of a bike i built up.

So I haven't had this xj long and already have done a little bit. Ordered a 6.5 Rough Country Long Arm , Full leaf pack Lift. A SYE and adams rear drive shaft. Cut and sprayed front bumper with bed liner. Depending on how that comes out rear is next. Started the fender trim. Now I need to find the time to get it all on ha. Looking for some wheels and tires but not sure if i want to go 33 or 35. Can't wait to wheel this thing. Gonna try to get alot done the next four days.

So its been awhile but i finally got my lift on the jeep. It took alot longer than I thought but my baby came in the middle of installing the lift on the 26th. Just got hood vents from a member on the forum and need to do some painting but all in due time. Its dirty in these pics but oh well. Enjoy
