Default 1990 XJ Laredo DD First Car/First Jeep

I picked up a 1990 Jeep Cherokee Laredo a couple months ago and decided I'd make a build thread on it. Here's some specs on it: Renix 4.0, NP242, 159k miles, Dana 35 wish I had the 8.25. I think it has limited slip but not positive on that. I'm 17 on a part time job and this is my first Jeep/vehicle so this will be a relatively slow build but bare with me

This is how it was sitting, was sitting in the sun for a couple of years.

Default Cleaning it up

Gave it a good wash, and also glued back the side panel where it was peeling off.

Driver seat seems a little sideways hmm

My grandpa told me to spray bleach white on the tires and rims then pressure wash it, I'm really happy with how it came out.

So much dirt came off the rims I couldn't believe it, it looks like a brand new Jeep. Also added a Quadratech sticker for extra horsepower.

Default Plans

So that's as far as I've gotten so far.
I forgot to mention that my Jeep has the crappy Bendix 9 system, which a whole new brake system is being put in it as we speak.
So here's some plans for it.

1. Paint the fenders/trim and tint the windows.
2. Put new seals all around it(the wind noise is pretty bad.)
3. Get the tear in driver seat reupholstered and headliner repaired.
4. Then the good stuff Lift and tires, haven't decided on 4.5 on 33s or 3 on 31s yet
5. Exhaust, probably Flowmaster 44 but not sure yet.

Default Finally got my Jeep back

Got my Jeep back from the shop, they got rid of the Bendix Abs system and put in a whole new brake system from a comanche with an actual booster and master cylinder. Works so much better. I considered doing it myself but its beyond my knowledge and hes a trusted mechanic.

Nice clean looking first jeep and sounds like a good platform for a great jeep!

Default Pictures

Now that I got my Jeep back I can take some pics of the engine bay/interior.

She always looks cleaner in photos haha

I took off most of the metal plates cause they were falling off anyways, I need to take off the rest of them.

And here's the engine bay, with a brake booster and shiny master cylinder instead of that terrible abs system.

Bought some things for the Jeep recently, I ordered a Thrush Welded 2.5" muffler, it sounds really good just like a flowmaster 40 just alot cheaper. Also got a tan Jeep steering wheel and some weather seals cause the ones on it are pretty wore down. Hopefully they'll solve the wind noise I get.
