Well tore her mostly all down this weekend. Engine, trans, and transfercase is out, as well as the front axle. Going to pull the rear axle out and the interior tomorrow night. Lifting her 7.5 with longarms, going to clean up the rust, use lots of por15, rhinoline and paint, 35s, already have a new 8.25 thats been regeared to 4.56s just have to regear the front or get a new axle. Installing a new dash and fix all the electrical gremlins as well as adding a aux fuse box by the relay center in the engine bay, removed the ac to make more room for the fuse box and new coolant bottle which I'm swapping over to the open cooling system, trans cooler and temp gauges! Wj booster upgrade, maybe wj front brake and knuckle upgrade as well as well as liberty discs in the back. Going to replace the freeze plugs, clean up and paint to the block and rebuild the head, did a compression test before I pulled the engine and every cylinder passed. Gave myself a 2 month deadline soo got a long way to go but can't for the outcome, here's some pictures of this weekend. stay tuned!
Well its been a while, had a few setbacks due to funds, but back on it. Just wrapped up paint today, ordering longarms tomorrow along with a bunch of other parts. Heres some pics, I'm no pro painter but at least she will look good at a distance and when I drive by. haha its going to be covered in mud anyways.
Just ordered my longarms from serious offroad, also ordered trans temp gauges and some other misc. parts. Next pay check have to order shocks and a sye. Still haven't figured out if I'm savalaging my old axle or buying a non cad dana 30.
Been busy trying to finish her up. Got the interior back in, with the new seats and dash, por15ed the floors and rockers and underneath, then went over it all with herculiner. Got the long arms from serious offroad, did an sye on the tcase, did a quick paintjob on the engine, had the head rebuilt, new freeze plugs, new gaskets, new timing chain cover. Replaced the relay center cause mine was melted, added another aux relay center and fuse box. also rearranged things in engine bay to fit coolant reservoir for open cooling swap, also used bracket for the 91 and up xjs that holds the powertrain fusebox in order to have reservoir in factory location and to use it as a mount for my new relay block, also fixed a bunch of wires behind the dash and the tail light harness..more to come! Hoping to have her complete by this next month.
Looks good . Dont sell that cad axle short people dont give them enough credit there alot stronger than they look. Where did you purchase those tall jack stands ?

Thanks, its been a long road haha, I really can't wait to take it wheeling. I've never had a issue with my cad axle, shes held up her end well. I may rebuild it, haven't decided yet, just need to find someone the reweld the lower control arm and track bar brackets cause there all bent up and one is broken off. I'm not sure actually, they're my buddys jackstands, I think he got the set for 250. I'll ask him. They have been great.
Bravo for delving into the renix rats nest, where did you get that cover for the relays?
Thanks, haha it was a pain in the *** but with how nasty those wires and block was, should be worth the headache lok. But I got the relay block from summit for 40ish bucks. It's made by hella.

thanks and solid work as always it's looking good.
Well engine is finally in, and started messing with some of the wiring, upgrading the wiring from the alternator. Also got about 90% of the interior back in. And new locks! Now I don't have to crawl through the hatch to unlock my door haha. Moving along slowly. Hoping to buy the last bit of parts I need to get this back on the road next payday. More photos to come
