1990 2dr xj slowwww
I recently got this
like 2 weeks ago.
It needs work pretty bad. No rust. But this guy, i dont mean to offend anyone on here but, the california stereotyped mexican with 80 cars, dressing all hood and ghetto, owned it before me. And after i removed the 17 Bandanas from everything i realized what i needed for interior.
Looks like he didnt like the Tan interior because the carpet and center console is PAINTED black. but the back and the rear cargo area are still tan. i tore out that and i primered it and im going to bedline.
Some issues i know of right now.
Steering. The Steering Gear was loose. I got down and tightened the bolts and my steering came back but now when i turn it still makes weird noises and its torquing the frame piece that its attached to. My windshield wiper stick is extremely hard to turn. My left blinker stays on. and i can move the wheel up and down excessively. So i might need to try and find out how do do a new steering column.
I think it needs a new starter. It takes a while for it to turn over. It just sits there and just slowly turns then faster and faster and faster. Its taken 10 to 15 seconds sometimes. Any Ideas??
Front blinkers dont work.
Oil gauge doesnt work.
Speedo barely works Major delays and the needle has play in it and vibrates all over the place. Gas gauge, When i hit the gas it goes down really fast, oh wait its a jeep thats common. But in all seriousness when i hit the gas it drops a quarter tank and slowwwwwwly moves up to where it was.
Its got 2 diff tires in the back then the front
Leafs are sagging bad
only the defroster vents work, but it wont change temp.
as of the other day it got stuck in 4wd, the ebrake light stays on, and the temp gauge goes all the way up. i drive it for like 10 seconds and it all goes back to normal.
This is gunna be a slowww build funds are low.
But for getting the jeep for 600 bucks i cant complain too much.
Plans
Fix Frame so i can steer
Posilock, Clean up and rebuild T-case. Install SYE in process and drop for higher lift.
SAVE SAVE SAVE for 6" Long Arm
Cheap rims
35" KM2's
Lockers
D60s
Body Armor
OD paint
Not in that order
LONG TERM PLANS
Cummins 4BT
Manual Tranny swap
Exo and interior hybrid cage

Got a new steering shaft and grille from the JY
No pics of the shaft but its prestine condition.
Ecology auto said theyve had the damn jeep i pulled it off of for 9 years. so its just been chillin not being used for 9 damn years.
pics in like 5 min.

Old shaft the rubber thing came out of the coupler type thing
between those 2 hoses you can see that the idiot tried to weld it or something to try and strengthen the frame... idk but its a horrible weld
