1987 Jeep Comanche Down 2 4x4
So i found another MJ... went and looked it over in the dark and in the poring rain too. Sold!
Now onto the details:
1987 Jeep Comanche longbed, and are you ready for this?? 4cyl 5 speed. 4x4.
has 106k miles, ugly paint, rocker rust and cab corner rust. bed is in typical shape but atleast the tailgate works. Came with the "factory" brush gaurd and a front and t-case skid plate. Interior is in pretty decent shape also. Bench seat and no tachometer.
As for the Plans:
Not so ugly paint job
some fender work
header panel work
radio
rear bumper build up
Did i mention i payed $600 for it? Will more than likely become my dd/gas saver.

been doing some farting around with the pickup... mostly touch-ups.. Some bedliner spray, new headlight and turn signal. Spark plugs and fluid check.
pulled the plastic bed liner out of the bed (hate these things) thankfully the bed is solid!
its starting to run a little goofy and i've got some gas tank issues.. will get into that soon. cobbled filler neck and tubes are no fun

well the driver floor is shot. cab corners are gone. bed sides above wheel wells and lower qtr panels on the bed are shot. Frame has been repaired from rust and has 2 spots that will need to be fixed.
it looks good soaking wet and in the dark, but not that awesome dry and in the daylight...
picked it up for the pure purpose of a dd beater for winter + a gas saver in the summer..
Will do some small things to fix it up but its not gonna be lifted. Just doing enough to make it apealing to the eye and wallet.
Picked up a complete header panel assembly, door panels, thermostat housing, dash trim, and cowl trim for the mj.. small face lift. also snagged an electric fan, pair of XJ tailights and a fan shroud. All for $80, pics will come once the work is done.

Some undesired discoveries today...
got under the hood today to do some tune up work.... plug wires, cap rotor, thermostat, and housing swap. and intake work..
Don't understand why some people are soo cheap but i removed the valve cover today to replace the leaky "gasket" only to see it had been installed using silicon. Took a good half hour to remove all the boogery-silicon left over on the cover and the head. Re-sealed and good to go now but seriously wtf!
No surprise to see silicon again on the thermostat housing and waterpump. Water pump will be re-done at a later day. Gaskets are pretty cheap, don't see why they don't get used on cooling systems.
more to come

ive been teetering for the last week or so now on what to do... I've got it listed for sale but I really don't mind a cheap-o project. So perhaps a flatbed and exhaust stack is in order and make it a little more entertaining. What do ya think.
Small lift, Led rear lights, 30-31" tires, mud flaps, improved rockers and repaired floors and offcourse flatbed....

not this one... this one was on its last leg... rather investing more $ into trying to get it to run correctly and making it look halfway decent. I sold it and got one i had into it.
