I used 1/4 sheet steel. And a plasma cutter to cut out the shape. Then cleaned it up with a grinder. Also I used counter sunk bolts to mount mine. I wouldn't use rivets.

x2 on this - you can get away with rivets for say the cut n' folding of rear lower quarters, but when you're attaching a thicker/heavier steel to thin sheet metal, it will just tear loose

personally, I would use counter sunk screws or bolts and washers on the on the opposite end...

Starter went out tonight. Fixing it sometime this week. If the Heep breaks down 1 more time this month, its getting cleaned up and sold. Can't handle the BS any longer.

Pretty soo everything is gonna be brand new though I haven't had any huge issues with mine for a long time, and right around 200k miles my dad was in the same boat as you with everything breaking. And $8000? sounds like your committed to it. If you get another, you'll probably end up putting another $8000 into it.

That plasti dip does look pretty good. How much it cost you to do the rockers and quarter panels and do you sand down everything oor paint rright over it?
