used 3m leather repair kit on my WJ seats. It took alot of filler and paint and will look better, not perfect. It should stop the wear though. 3m adhesive and paint is super flexible. I had to patch about an inch by 3 section and about 3 separate areas. I also glued a piece of towel and wrapped the foam in the seat to restore the bolster. Ghetto-greatness.
Paid for bored throttle body. He's in canton, south dakota. Sweet deal. Less than 600 miles away, no need to expedite shipping. I'm hoping he doesn't drag his feet and that it will be a quick turn around.
I also bought a zj shifter. I just like the way they look and I was bored.
I think the next project will probably be a Banks header. I'm sick of taking the seats out of the jeep and wiring. Heated seats probably aren't needed, I suppose.
I will be attaching a security cable to my led light bar I think, to help with theft and wiring in a waterproof plug. That's the next project.
Going to tear around in the jeep tomorrow, if the seat repairs ever cure.

Side bolster hole. Was over a 1/4" Deep, Filled it in.

3m's filler glue

My terry cloth, glued with 3m spray on glue and wrapped around cushion to restore the bolster to newish. Duct tape was temporary, while the glue dried.

This was the side of the seat. Worn down by the cushion's sag. I cut out the strips and filled it in with a patch that came with the 3m leather repair kit. Tons of filler and then paint.

The other large repair. It's filled in this picture. I know it's redundant, but I wanted before and after pics.

I think the seat looks good. The pliable glue+paint takes forever to dry. It had better be done in the morning because I can't stand being stuck in the apartment.

Oh yeah. Saw this awhile back.. great stuff.

This is why I want rock sliders. In case I ever need to sneak back into the US. Also, the drug runners must not know much about articulation.

I got my zj shifter in. 10 bucks, why not? I had to pound the ish out of it to get it on.

Saw some mountain lion tracks the other day.

And took the jeep down a road about 15 miles in about 3" fresh snow on 6" of crust
Some drifts were squirrely. Makes me want a set of tire chains, maybe even a selectable locker, up front.

Also received my 32 tooth speedo gear. Weather permitting, I'll drain/fill my tcase fluid and swap the gear out on Thurs.

Found some old pics of my JEEP. During some front end reconstruction and one after I stuffed some 31's on stock lift and had to trim (but before much else).

Installed a 62mm throttle body today. Sweet. Louder exhaust, more peppy, and holds freeway speed much better.
Switched oil to synthetic rotella 5w, lots of chatter now. I'll probably go dino nest time.
Changed tcase fluid. Old stuff was black.
Installed 32 tooth Speedo gear for my 31s. O ring broke. 8 bucks at stealership for replacement. Oh well. It was spewing fluid.

Oh yeah... grand Cherokee rear cupholders. Second console lid swap in a month.

I installed the TB today. It took a grueling 5 minutes. I also adjusted my throttle cable using this guide: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/free-quick-fix-41821/
I don't think it needed adjustment, but it may help ya'll
My review - sweet.
After the injectors, exhaust, and CAI - I think this was the cherry on top.
Granted, I did buy another TB and have it bored. After everything I invested 50 (TB) + 60 (bore) + ~20 (shipping both ways). I'd say it was money well spent. That's about what I spent on my catback.
The magnaflow catback grumbles now. Definitely louder. I can hear more air moving in CAI, especially during warm up cycle. Where I used to be pushing it up a local onramp to make 60 by the time I merged onto the interstate, I now easily merge at over 60 (under 3k rpms). The rig seems to shift better (could be TB cable adjust, but I didn't notice that doing anything), there is no noticeable jerk at shift points - much more seamless. I've only opened it up from a stop a few times, but it moves.. Also, maintains 70+ on the highway with much less effort. Downshift, when I push the gas, is much less dramatic (no huge RPM bump) and seems to accomplish more to keep speed.
I'm happy. I'll try to remember to post back with MPG (if I can keep off the skinny pedal).
I posted pics in build thread, but they are just pics of 2 tb's.

Daystar switch panel installed. No more wires floating around the interior. I like it a lot.

Took a pic outside the gym. Didn't realize flash was on... People inside probably think I'm a creep

And. Random pic from blustery day

Big chip in windshield. About time for a new one.
I got my coolant flushed today. Midas quoted 230 bucks. Had local shop do it for 70. They didn't replace thermostat so I will before Moab this spring.
Also, found a mid 90s upcountry for sale. Tempted to buy it for parts. We'll see.
Still pondering a rooftop tent. Yup.

If you remove your fender liners you can wedge pool noodles (foam float toys) in the gap to keep crud out. Nice to meet ya! Now that I make more cash I'm really tempted to put a detours rear tire carrier on. It's always something ...Originally Posted by Bill4577

Oh yeah. I promised a buddy an update. The list is exhaustive. Welcome to the forum! Post some pics of your jeep!Originally Posted by Bill4577

Soooo. I've been driving the jeep more than working on it. Wyoming is pretty in that it allows much more motorized access than the Missoula area did (western Montana). Also, they love guns. I bought a few and I am pretty fond of them too. I got a remington 870 express super mag and a gen 3 glock 22. My next few upgrades will probably be on them and the jeep will only get maintenance for now. Here are some jeep pics from a recent outing.

And I did some backcountry ice fishing. Snowshoed in with an ice auger.

That's my update!

More work to be done! Nothing else could be as important as this Jeep, come on.

I changed ny wheel hubs with timkens last Sunday, installs New brake pads and rotors. . . it didn't fix the noise I had so I took to shop and paid almost 300 to change out my front axle pinion seal and my front driveline ujoint. off to Montana next week. I'll try to get up on updates.
good to hear from Ya mallamo
