Got 60 Seconds? Stop the abuse of the Antiquities Act in Natl Monument creation
The National Monument Designation Transparency and Accountability Act have been introduced in the House and the Senate. This legislation would bring needed reforms and end the abuse of the Antiquities Act. It will ensure public involvement and Congressional oversight over any future Presidential National Monument designation.
Given the past abuses of the Antiquities Act, we believe this legislation is necessary. And given the extensive plans the Obama Administration has already made for future Monuments, it is absolutely vital that the National Monument Designation Transparency and Accountability Act moves in the House and Senate committees this year.

sorry to let the air out, but that bill died in committee last summer, this http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-5580 explains it. so your efforts may be better spent contacting the bills sponsor Rep. Devin Nunes and you local reps to ask for the reintroduction of the bill and ask you rep to co-sponsor the legislation.
