I understand the fire side. And 'most' things in the fire service are fancier versions of 'citizen' tools, equipment, etc... God forbid NFPA put their seal of approval on it the ****ing price triples.

I like my free off brand jack. It works just fine.

But the knock off wouldn't service as a fast rescue winching device or metal bender when needed. It wasn't purchased with one thing in mind

Why wouldn't it? We use the tractor supply jacks if needed but they are very rarely needed as in maybe once every few years. Anything extrication wise should not require the use of a high lift jack. Thats why we have hydraulic rams, jacks, and various other extrication tools.

I've used my personal jack to straighten out a friends roof after he rolled his truck. Worked like a dream.

I'm not knocking your purchase or the jack itself as i'm sure it's nice, i'm just playing 'devils advocate' bud. Post some pics when you can.

Default Wilmington NC Jeepers?

You'll only have those thing if your at a firehouse, most people aren't going to purchase anything like that to carry around in their rig or DD. And without training no one would understand how to use most of that stuff effectively.

I like the idea of this being designed for it, and can carry in my DD. And with the knock off you might "find a way" to do it kind of like saying "duct tape will fix anything". I am one of the guys who gets the correct part to fix it.

I'm the guy who would save $200+ to fabricate my own base to fit on the knock off and accomplish the same thing.

Not knockin your purchase. Just saying I'm a cheap bastard.
