Honestly, DirtBound's Mojave is really nice. Plus, even if you get the standard bumper you can get just the tire carrier later on add it to the bumper.

I would recommend welding the length of the receiver to the plate. It'll add a good amount of strength for when you tow anything. Just my .02

Same thing happened to me a few months ago, I got a new one from a junk yard for a few bucks.

Any of you guys lift the back of your hood and notice any ups or downs to this mod?

The guillotine mod! Seems to reduce under hood temps but not engine temps.
Keeps the hood a bid cooler and all the plastic bits like vacuum lines and what-not. May help for slow speed crawling. Also help preserve all those plastic bits and prevent heat soak when shutting off engine.
The best tool for thermal experimentation is an infra-red temp gun.

That could very well be true. The coolant lines and expansion valve are exposed to trapped underhood heat. Venting should help keep those lines and parts cooler, resulting in more efficient AC output.
Think I will try the mod again for the summer.
