Not Rich - Not Retired.
Shoe Creek is only a fuel cost event. And I'm only doing Sunday.
The SC and NC trip is part of summer vacation visiting familly in both States. Long road trip!
But Yes it's alot of wheelin'!

I tow my crap to all events... so just filling my truck and jeep to leave and I am at 160 before I leave the driveway. Then at big dogs event fee, plus camping fee, and you are over 100 depending on event fee (65+40). SO it dont take long to add up.

PLus I only get 1 weekend off a month.

Quote: Hey all.
My son and I are thinking about doing another Big Dog event, what would you all think about going as a group? I know we wouldn't all ride the same trails.
Just heard back from John Hunt of Big Dogs. The July 2-4 Pack It In Event is FREE! (except for gas and food)

Bryan,

It's not on the sign up form because its free. Its my gift back to those who support Big Dogs.

For sign up we just email me like you're doing. If you or any of the OCC want to come along, just email me like this.

We drive to the center of 12 beautiful landmarks and find a camp site. Then sight-see. Then depending on the group, we decide if we want to do a true Pack It In. Meaning, camp on one of the many backwoods trails in the true wilderness. (While unpacking one person stands as sentry until the others are ready.)

I conduct a mixture of Survival Training and military tactics. I don't wait until something goes wrong before I say "I should have done that." I have been there and done that hundreds of times before. So, proper preparation is crucial.

We have never had an incident. Probably because of the rumble of the engines and the circle of the wagon train formation.

I could go on describing the landmarks, suffice it to say, four in my group come every year. Why, because ................

Destination is up in the air until right before we leave. I have been ALL over WV so nothing is new for me.

John

Hey xjdevildog, welcome. We are always looking for places to off road. Not to long ago we had a get together out in Warrenton at Carousel Ice Cream, twelve Cherokees showed up. Could you look into off roading on Quantico? I think most of us are civilians. Thanks.

That would be great. If it works out, maybe we could schedule a get together with trail ride.
