My Son and I just ran Potts Mountain Jeep Trail in the Jefferson National Forrest. Not to far from you. Google it. Here are some pics.

The next time one of our local club runs Potts(I lead the rides) I will PM you.
My rig is down right now with a busted ring gear in the D-30, I hope to get the time to set-up my gears in the next couple of weeks. Potts will be closing around Jan 1st and will re-open mid April.
I recommend at least 31's(MT's), front/rear recovery, rocker protection and t-case/tank skid. I can get a stock rig through but it all depends on your driving ability. I've run it stock when it was wet and that was a trip I'll never forget!
Top-down is easy, Bottom-up is a bit of a challenge at the Ledge bypass and on the stacks. We can go either way, doesn't matter to me.
Bring tools, spare parts, full size spare and a fire extinguisher.

Hey "old" guy...I had to say that because I seen one of your posts saying you were an old guy (46). I will be 43 Dec 15th so we are not to far apart. So from one old guy to another, would you mind PM'n me on the next Potts run too, please? I don't mind a little travel for a good and fun time. Is there any room for an 18' car hauler and a Dodge crew cab to unload the XJ? Thanks..

Shoe Creek isn't bad. It's a good trail to hit for some easy wheeling. It's stocker friendly but there are a few spots where you can get some good flex shots.
The lower entrance to Big Levels is also right near Shoe Creek as well, just off the Blue Ridge parkway.

I ran it when I was siting stock with 30" A/T's. Couple of spots you'll want to watch your lines, but for the most part it's pretty straight forward. One thing that will greatly help is to either buy or make a set quick disconnects for the front sway bar, completely remove the rear sway bar and throw it away, and then swap the soft brake lines for a set 95 YJ brake lines up front and a 96 dakota rear line.
