Default I smell coolant.

I have a 97 Cherokee Sport I6. When driving and after I park I can smell coolant. The temp gauge shows good temps and I find no leaks. The resv is at the right mark and when I remove the cap the fluid looks good. Any Ideas?

Look under the dash on the passengers side. You will see a black box with a cable attached to it. You may find your coolant leak on the stud the cable is hooked to. I had a similar problem that soon got worse. As time went on I started seeing trails of vapor coming from the vents and the windows started fogging up. I knew then my heater core had sprouted a leak. I dont know of any thing else it could be if you didnt find any leaks under the hood. Its not a bad fix just takes a little time and attention to detail. It took about 5 hours to fix mine with the help of a friend.

You can have your cooling system pressure tested to find antifreeze leaks
