where were you when the earthquake hit today? I was driving down the freeway at 65mph when the whole Jeep started shaking. Thought I had broke something until the radio announced the quake.

 

I felt my couch shake around a by whilst playing Oblivion. My whole family felt this gentle rocking.

 

Fixing something i broke in the restroom. I didnt even notice it, but my little brother was freaking out haha

 

I was here at work in gloucester... the shop shook and the garage doors started ratting. Some crazy ****....... but being a military brat drom CA its no biggie. First its the QUAKE and now we got a possible major HURRICANE commin... its THE END!!!¡

 

earthquake just hit glens falls and saratoga ny, i was sitting in my driveway and everything started to rattle

 

it hit NC around 145

 

I was actually in my Jeep in the driveway looking at how to take the dashboard apart. I thought my neighbor came over and was rocking the truck, looked in the mirrors, seen no one. got out and put my hand on the back door thinking it had to be the gas in the tank rocking..nope!
I live in NY right across the water from NYC
Phones did not work, but facebook was right on it with all my friends posting lol
I knew what it was about 20 seconds after it stopped, how funny is that!

 

Haha I'd be thinking "god damned death wobbles back.. Oh sh** earthquake!"

 

(I am about 50 miles south of Mineral)
It hit while I was watching the news. They were just giving a warning about the Hurricane and suddenly it sounded like my roof was being ripped off. My first thought was their prediction of it being a few days away was a little off. It shook pretty hard for about 30 seconds. From what I can see from reports from the news and other members here and friends from Facebook the further away you are from the epicenter the more you feel. DC had buildings loosing bricks and all we had was the shakes. I am guessing that it is like the Tsunamis. The waves grow the further away from the epicenter they get before they hit something solid. I am not a Geologist so don’t take my word for it! LOL

 

I was cutting thick metal in a vice on my tool box with a sawzall. I thought the saw was causing my tool box to shake!!
Didn't find out till later that it was an earthquake!

 

I had my jeep on my lift, i was on the phone in my office chair, and i feel this weird almost swaying. I look up and see the lampshade is moving back and forth. Oh ya im the whole way in Pittsburgh!

 

sleeping. it woke me up

 

I was at work.... thought it was a piece of equipment messing up

 

Working in a basement on a ladder. Felt like I had the spins lol

 

I was in my room folding laundry and my entire house started shaking. Really creepy.
