Quote: it just sucks that there is no where around virginia beach thats has a little bit of trails and obsticles and is legal because everything i know about is a pretty far drive
PLEASE don't tell me this is a excuse for illegal wheeling.

There is NO excuse. If you don't know if a place is legal, don't go till you find out.

Im sure there is private land nearby, until last year when I got more involved in the offroad community I didn't know we had so many area's nearby, and now that I have been around, and met the folks, I have been invited to the private lands. Just my 2 cents.

X2... Once you get involved more, and dont act like an Asshat (not saying anyone has in this post) YOu get invited to private places. Sometimes the catch is you cant post pics or videos cause said property owner doesnt want it to get out that they allow wheeling, or want yahoos tresspassing cause their friend told them about said place.

I went out on that trail twice, got questioned once, but haven't since. Now Im glad that i haven't gone back!

These days, the only chance my suspension has to flex is going over speed bumps!

I talked to a few guys that live near the area. They were all in favor of the people going in there to wheel. They loved seeing all the trucks and how they were set up. The problem is there are way to many in the area there that don't like the big trucks and think we are a menace to society. I got dirty looks from people walking by as I was talking to them while sitting in my truck.

There are people who will grab cell phones and walk outside to see if the trucks go past the signs. If they do then they instantly call the police and stay on the phone so the police know where you are.

Most of the police don't mind the guys wheeling but when they have a complaint they have to act. Especially when those who complain are the ones that constantly send emails to city council and attend all the city meetings.

As we all know, if you give the police respect, even if you don't think they deserve it, they usually don't write a ticket for every violation.

It is a shame that the few ruin it for the rest of us.........

Anyone out there with money enough to buy a large plot of land around here and open up a wheeling park? I am sure most of us would be willing to pay a membership fee and even provide free labor to assist keeping it up and running. Just a thought.... anyone anyone Bueller Bueller?

It's a little bit of a drive for you but we have people in your area join w/ us on some of our local runs when we go to Shoe Creek. There is no mud but it is a great trail to run and get out on!

If you are interested and think some friends would be we'd love to have you guys join us sometime. We are in the midst of planning one now. If you're interested you can pm me for more details. If not, good luck finding something closer.

I know that a few places in NC will let you drive on the Beach. I know it's not wheelin, but it is fun.

SHoe creek can be a lot of fun. Just remember anything on the left or the right is ILLEGAL. Actual ppl own the land off the "road". If they catch you.. they will calll the law on you.

^^ Very true. I'm working on contacting all the land owners there and getting permission to go on some of the side trails. Hopefully it'll happen.
