Anyone know of any spots NE nc? A guy to me about a place with a Facebook page like "I be mudding" or something but I can't fix it to save my life. I live in suffolk va. Right off the nc/va line. I make frequent trips to gates to wheel.

The 'mudding' might be Dennis Anderson's Muddy Motor Park. In Currituck, NC
Otherwise here in Eastern NC, there are the beaches to drive and jump the camelhumps. The northern beaches ( Corolla/ Carova) are flat and hard pack and crowded. The southern beaches (Hatteras) are the fun ones with terrain, whoops, ledges, camelhumps, drop-offs, ruts, soft sand and hardpack, often with no one around. Also have a maritime forest with a trail. And that's about it along with private property mud holes and flat trails.
In Suffolk you are just 3 hours from awsome trails and National Forests. Near Afton, VA. A short ways past Charlottsville.
Gates seems like a long way to go for wheeling

Gates is 30 minutes from me and is a pretty awesome spot. The place in talking about was supposed to be private property. I'm not into mudding but a good time is a good time. Haha, Dennis Anderson's place is like competitions and such, not into ruining the jeep that much.

My mistake, I looked up gates and came up with Gates County, wayout in western VA. I am so far from every wheeling spot except the beach. Cant wait to wheel somewhere there are trees and trails.
Yea, the muddy motor park is best for spectating.

I am an hour and a world away from Carolla. And further South than Oregon Inlet. Corolla is mostly yuppies, way overcrowded and overbuilt.
Down here it's fisherman and surfers, empty beaches, trout and 30 pound rock-fish caught from the beach.
Oregon Inlet only has 2 or 3 miles of beach driving. But Hatteras has a lot more to offer than Carolla and more will open in another week. Also the beaches are not flat here, full of terrain and jumps and high speed runs. Also have some short rally style trails and the largest maritime forest on the east coast.
If you like Carolla / Carova then Hatteras will blow you away.

I fried an alternator too, along with the rest of the jeep.
