Default Xj lifts in PA

Can anyone with some experience with lifting their Xj in pa help me out here. I understand max bumper height is 22" by pa state law. I am planning on doing a 4.5" or 6.5" BDS lift on 33x10.5s. Am I going to run into a problem?

I've never heard of anyone having a problem. As long as you have bumpers and fender flares ( i think the tire cant stick out more then 1.5") you should be fine

It depends on where you go for inspection. Cops won't bother you but some inspection garages may give you crap.

depends on where you live, i live in erie pa and i know someone who was pulled over for it all the time.. he added a hitch that went all the way across the bottom of his bumper and below by a few inches and he was fine with that. if you live in a small town dont worry about it

just go to an inspection place a bit off the beaten path if you're worried. Should be fine though.

I am a state inspector in PA and technically the tires cannot stick out past the fenders at all and if the vehicle came factory equipped with fender flares, then fender flares must be installed. A lot of these guys will put a quarter along the flare and drop it, if it bounces off the tire it fails. But I guarantee you maybe 10% of the inspectors actually check. If you go to a no name shop then they'll probably let you slide. Just don't go to a chain type place.
