Default Where NOT to go to get gears done in pa

So i dont know if this is the right place to say all this, but i just need to warn everybody about this place in bensalem, called rollover offroad inc. His name is kevin, and hes trying to get his business up and running. I had him regear my rear ford 8.8 with 4.56s and a detroit truetrac. I watched the whole setup. He didnt use loctite on the ring gear bolts, and he used an impact gun for everything. He didnt use a torque wrench once. Well its been almost a week, and i decided to take it into jeff daniels to get some other work done, i figured id have them check the gears. The pinion bearings didnt have the proper preload on them, which was causing premature wear on the bearings. So they need to be replaced. The gear pattern was good, but that was with a loose pinion. A couple of my ring gear bolts were starting to loosen up, he didnt use loctite on them. And when he popped the shafts out, he left them lay in the tubes, which ultimately stretched out my outer seals and caused a big oil leak out of both sides. I paid 200 for the gear install, and i tipped him 50 (figured id be nice). I told him about the issues, asked for a partial refund, and he never got back to me. I learned a very expensive lesson, let experienced techs do gears. Your gonna pay more, but you wont have issues like i did. Kevins a very nice guy, i have no problem with him. I do have a problem with the way he does his work. Please be cautious if your thinking about having him do work for you. If this isnt in the right section, mods feel free to move it

I don't understand how you stood and watched, and let him continue. If you knew he was doing something wrong, you let him continue, and you still tipped him? Hmmmm....

$200 was pretty cheap. Here in CT it's $800 for EACH gear install.

Yea i know it was. I guess you get what you pay for. Around me its like 650-700 each axle. Should have just sucked it up and got it done at a legit shop

I didnt know he was at the time. Its kinda my own fault for not knowing how specific everything had to be. I never researched it only because i wasnt gonna do it myself. But once the shop found everything they explained how in depth it is

Not legit like no tax ID or service license yet either? Sheesh..
I can kinda see that when your just getting started. People are strapped for cash in the beginning. That's prolly why he did it so cheap but he should have followed proper procedure on the install.
When you start a new business you want your new customers to refer to new customers for a good professional job not bad mouth for a hit and run on their wallet.
Not gonna pull in much profit once the word goes around..
