I'm from Warren co. Phillipsburg. I read a huge thread about Stokes on another forum once, from what I read it's mostly dirt roads and fire roads, no reaal trails. Some have a few mud holes and the scenery is nice. I don;t think there is anything hardcore or close to it, but there is alot of legal non paved roads to get dirty on.

Nothing hardcore in terms of obstacles, but go up there after a rain storm and the mud holes will amaze you. Last time I was up there was in my old cherokee (no lift and stock tires) and certain sections were eroded with ruts like crazy. There are some decent obstacles, definately some stuff beyond a stock rigs capabilities, but nothing super crazy. Fair amount of slick rock, plenty of water fording, and all the mud you'd ever want. I'm 5 minutes from Sccc so if you wanna head up on a Friday or weekend shoot me a pm.

I'm in Hamburg and looking to get out more locally. Haven't wheeled in a while and need some spot tips. Let's make this happen! You might want to check out the High Point Mudslingers also. Never could make it to their meetings though (Wednesday nights).

Oh damn. Stokes might not be open for a while. The area to access the fire roads is through the tillmans rivine nature area access road. Stokes main road runs from 206 to the walpack out in sandyston. They shut down a section of it during winter cause its impossible to plow. I forget if the access is before, or after the winter barrier. I'll head up tomorrow and take a look see.

I went up through there the other day. It's rutted out like crazy. I ripped my flares off several times. I got about halfway up and had to turn back. Up top there's some staggered mud holes that will have you flexing like crazy. I'd definately recommend going up there. Follow 206 past the main stokes entrance (on the right) go to the one for KMSR on the left. It's struble road I think. Follow that road past the scout camp, past the 4h camp, keep following the road. Eventually you'll hit a 90* right hander with a paved road to the right and a dirt road to the left. Take the dirt road. If you pass the parking lot with wood outhouses (on the left) you went too far.

Stokes is my backyard, You might even see me in there with my Horses. I never thought of wheeling in there, Rangers are a bit of trip. Some of them think they own the park and make their own rules or determine what the Law states in their minds. Good Luck and Good Wheelin'

There is a spot in ny off Rt 284 in westtown called the westtown pits. I go there all the time. Tons of mud kind of a small spot but i meet up with the mudslingers there sometimes and have fun.
