Does RC require both front and rear recovery points?

Skreed you said your stock Xterra made it through. You think a stock 96 XJ could handle the green (or whatever's easiest) trails?
Honestly I don't see why not. There are a few kinda nasty green trails that boarder on blue or moderate. However I have those marked on my map. I have seen a few post on here where stock XJ's have done greens and even some blue fine. The most important thing is to take it slow and call for a spot if you even the slightest bit uneasy about something. The only times I got into trouble with my Xterra was when I was not taking it slow and having people spot, I was with groups that had way more lift and experience and I felt like a dork asking for a spot on the easier stuff but that is when I started taking hard hits under my X. I think the upcoming run is gonna be slow and relaxed and I would say thats not going to be a prob. I like taking it slow, I'd rather relax, have fun, take some pics, bs rather than covering as many miles as possible, or doing the craziest crap possible.

As far as tow points here is what I have to say. I've been to Raush 5 times never once did I have someone check my truck. I think they say one tow point is manatory but is someone gonna enforce that? I dunno. But in my opinion your gonna want to have at least one preferably in the front.

Yeah I am either doing a hitch with a hook (most likely) or trying to fab something up front outta some plate. I'm just concerned about breaking something or noticeable body damage as it's my DD and only means of transport and legally it isn't mine. (Long story) You think I'll have a problem with open diffs?

I know the feeling. When I took my Xterra out I had 8000 miles on it. It was the only car in the family and the family hauler. I didn't have really any probs however I was getting itchy to try more stuff and not be so worried, thats why I pick up my XJ.

Open diffs....I have no lockers. They certainly help, but not everyone is fortunate enough to have them. I plan on getting them in the future, but I don't have the cash right now. I did have a locker on my Xterra but I would have made it without on most green trails.

I've been itching to go out there since I brought my XJ back from the dead in december but have been scared to break something. Now I actually think I could do it. Thanks for the confidence boost

Yeah I won't be up there. I have a big gaping hole where my floor should be and no recovery points. I'm not too worried about the actual breaking of the part, but how to get/ install a new one. I'm closer to RC than you I think but it's still a long trip if you fry or foul up something. Happy wheeling
