Where can I buy large nuts at? Lol. A nut roughly the size of a pinion nut on a d30. I want to go to a store and buy it cause I don't know exactly what size and thread I'm working with. I rounded the first set of threads on my axle shaft for my bike. I found a redneck fix that requires you to buy a new nut for the bolt, cut the nut in half, clamp it to the good threads, then back it off to straighten the bad threads. It's worth a shot cause I don't want to have to buy a new axle. The damage is so small, I just can't get the nut to start on it. Needless to say that sucker was stuck in there.

I did the same to a d44 pinion (threads pulled out of the nut). Lost the last two threads on the pinion and couldn't get a new nut on. Ended up fixing it with a file and a die. Lol

^ I was going to suggest the same thing.
If it's just the starter threads, file them down past the damage and try to clean them up.
