it's quite common on 97-98 cherokees. I had to replace the fuel pump assembly on my fiancee's 98, apparently the sender was shot.

Yea my 97 is accurate until about 1/2tank or less,then it usually just goes to E Haha. I know mine needs a sending unit but I'm cheap and have been dealing with it for 6 years by just going by mileage.

Mines a 99 but I may replace the whole fuel pump I'm also getting 5 mpg it seems like I need to lower my transfercase I was told to get some better milage idk what else other then a tune up but thanks

I try to track my miles but I'm always off and run out of gas it sucks

I live in upper darby but i drive my work truck so you prob won't see me haha my xj doesn't go over 50mph haha so I don't go on the e-way to much

def do a tune up. And look into replacing the injectors later in the future. Wink wink nudge nudge

Doing 85mph in the cherokee the other day on the turn pike, no death wobble or anything and no sway bars, it wasnt fun for the wallet though haha
