A buddy if mine just talked to a guy who had a 97+xj sitting on 7" of lift (most likely a mall crawler), the guy told him that you dont need an SYE on 97+ xjs....... Since when did the output shaft on the tcase change and since when was i not told this? Hahahaha..... Someones on crack
Edit: they guy also said he had a 4.7 stroker in it also, he must buy alot of U joints
