Someone else mentioned I should post here too. Not trying to jack any threads, just a disappointed XJ owner.
So good old newark, NJ. Last night while I was at work in the Ironbound district my jeep was stolen. Driven right off from where it was parked near the corner of Delancy and Pulaski. This happened in the middle of the snow/ice storm between 9pm-1130pm. The licenses plate is FMH 3652 NY state.

I'd go as far as a $500.00 reward if I could have it back in mostly one piece. This killed my spirits last night, any help would be great.

...... its not hard? Lol what are you worried or confused about? If I remember correctly, for an 8.8 all you need is perches and a flange for the u joint. Or you can run the goofy conversion u joint like I put on the drive shaft I made for "Cherokeejon"
Yeah I plan on getting the flange from a ranger in a junkyard and making my own perches. What reference points should I use to center the axle under the jeep? Is it really necessary to get spacers, because if I recall correctly, it's one inch shorter than the c8.25

Ex: (these are random bs numbers)
Factory perch center to center width- 40"
8.8 flange to flange width- 55"
55-40=15
15/2= 7.5"
So you would measure in 7.5"from the flange in both sides for your perch center.
You should know how to do that already man haha

Dumb question guys but have not found a definite answer. The little tab on side of y 8.25 yoke is not there u know the piece that keeps joint from sliding left or right. Now I need to replace yoke with I have a replacement. Question is do I have to be extra careful as far as reload goes or do I have to completely reset that? Or can I just swap new one in and torque it down and if so what specs? Ot should I just get a small piece of steel and weld it to yoke?
