Hello all, Central PA 2001XJ owner here. Bought her in 2012, as my first Jeep. Although a buddy of mine had her since 2013 (until recently) cause he and his wife needed a 2nd vehicle, and mine wouldn’t let me keep a 4th in the drive way.
Not much really done to the XJ. Just a cheap 2” shackle and block lift, front and rear tail lights, LED fog lights, LED interior lights.
Now that I have her back, I purchased some OME 2930 springs and Rancho leafs to try and do the lift right.
Taking a lot of time to read all the great info post on these forums. Really learning a lot.

Welcome from bfe perry county. Clean looking Jeep. This thread is pretty dead usually... But some of us still check in on occasion and are willing to help. We used to do rausch creek runs and such, but I've been to busy on the farm, and nobody else except I think unidentifiedbomb dude has tried to do anything lately. Though I'd like to get up this year if possible and anyone is interested.
@foxmxrcer thank you. She is pretty clean for a 20yr vehicle lol. Lots of little stuff I want to take care of over the next few months for sure.
Right now I'm planning replacement parts and upgrades. Just want to get her in great running order and toughen her up a bit. Have the OME 2930 springs and Rancho leafs already.
Just ordered a RC track bar solely because it appears/said to be adjusted easily without taking it completely off.
I have some strange noise coming (what I believe is) from the rear diff. I tried to hand shake the rear drive shaft and it didn't budge. So that is something high on my list to investigate more before buying anything else.
My drive way sloped just enough that I can't safely work on it, need to shuffle some cars around to get it in the garage. The Mrs. isn't excited about it being on stands in the garage for more than a few days at a time.
Are there good/decent 4x4 or Jeep specific shops around in Central PA that: A) actually know what they are doing with an XJ B) cool with a noob just asking DIY questions a bit
I looked around online and there appears to be a few, but figured I'd ask cause I trust word of mouth over online reviews.
I'll definitely be asking a lot of noob questions on the forums once I exhaust the vast amount of info already here.
Rausch Creek is about 35mins away from me. I'd be down for a trip once I think she is in shape for it, I've only ever drove by it. I don't want to do more than some light trail stuff with her though, I've already been told that I am not allowed to do major rock crawling lol.

Mt Zion offroad, they're expensive and kinda scammy imo. I think there's a 4wp in Carlisle? Unsure of their abilities though. I work at a shop in Lancaster county, but we primarily do European vehicles, and our labor rate is around 100. A buddy of mine in York county runs a pretty stand up shop at his house, he does a lot of builds for people. I can send you his info if you're ever interested.
Rausch is a lot of fun. Anything from a dirt road, to a giant creek of boulders, to the comp course, and the off camber trails. All the difficult trails kinda wye off of the easy main trails, and loop back on.
One day I'll get Foxmx out to Rausch. I have his number but I have a newborn now and i'll be busy myself for a while. Jeep is on stands getting a lot of upgrades when I have time, lots of parts laying around.

I've probably been there more than you have in total. Just not in the past couple years. My old lady is considering getting a wrongler so we can go up together. I need to sell my deck over, install my gooseneck hitch, and get a double hauler. Lol
