Well, we're back from Rausch. Turned out to be a beautiful weekend except for sunday night and monday morning with t-storms. Not much karnage for wheeling blacks and reds all weekend long either.
That was my... Short..... Memorial day weekend at rausch. Killed a D60 stub shaft.... Followed by breaking a front drive shaft u joint u bolt.... 35 spline chromoly shafts are in the mail
Damn dude! Were you rock bouncing through there?! lol. I crawled my XJ through there (Trail 20?) and bent my tie rod but nothing broken. I should say it scraped everything but the mighty D30 held up lol. You can see my bent tie rod in the pics making a nice frowny face.

I was just cruising through in 2wd low for most of it, the trail wasnt anything spectacular, but was fun. At the very end of the trail, I through it into 4wd low low and took the left line, wedged the lf into a vertical face that was about 3/4 tire height, and I heard it snap. Originally I had thought it was the hub, but after getting back to camp noticed it was the shaft. I think it was previously fractured from the previous wheeling trip....It shouldnt have broken where I was.

I'd have to agree that it was probably already compromised. It was a tough trail for my setup but you definitely shouldn't have had issues. Sucks breaking that early on the trip. Hopefully next time we can get some wheelin in. I haven't even touched my xj since I got back....

ha, my 60 is all torn apart, the ruffstuff diff cover is painted and ready to go on, and "brown santa" dropped off my 35spl shafts and drive flanges today. So after work, Ill try and get it all thrown back together.....to sit in my garage until the next trip.
