i was going good without death wobble for the last 2 weeks then the other day i hit a bump going 65-70 and it started going nuts again, not as bad as before but something else deff needs fixed.
anyone got ideas for replacing the bolt in the track bar? im sure its going to be galled in the sleeve, and im going to have to cut it out of there. i need a good replacement size, preferable something that is standard not metric.
Bolt replacement is easy. It's just a nut and bolt. If I remember correctly, is a metric bolt, small, 10mm? The closest sae bolt would be 3/8". I would highly recommend against doing that, mainly because 1. The bolt is smaller, and 2. The increased air gap around the bolt (in the hole) will be more.... And it doesn't matter how tight you make that bolt, it will shift, and eventually loosen. If you get death wobble a lot, even more reason not to do it. If you REALLY want an sae bolt in there, then just drill the bracket and sleeve out to 7/16". Most hardware stores have metric fasteners though.Originally Posted by Maple__Man

The sizes I mentioned were a pure stretch of my memory, as my "track bar" bolts are 3/4" thick grd8 bolts.... Been a while since I've messed with the baby factory ones.

maybe ill try the 10mm then, i just dont have many metric tools. i know if i do put a sae in there and it does wobble out the hole im gonna be in a world of hurt cause as it sits the hole is in good condition. if i could find a donor jeep with not so much rust on it i could salvage the bolt out of it but i guess ill just have to go to a hardware store and find a bolt that fits the sleeve. also does anyone recommend putting anti seize in the sleeve so it wont gall up later on?Originally Posted by foxmxrcer

Invest in Metric tools. That's the majority of what's on your JeepOriginally Posted by Maple__Man

I'm just talking about carrying a concealed firearm and ammunition within reach of the driver. That's a huge problem in a lot of states, and I'd want to look into liability laws if I were selling them.Originally Posted by War Eagle

I agree. As a seller, I think you would might need to familiarize yourself with concealed weapon laws in various states and have some kind of disclaimer so the buyers know what they are getting themselves into when they buy your productOriginally Posted by NewKindOfClown

ill just sell it as a Freedom Console then. 2nd Amendment is the law of the land, and if we allow them to strip us of our most important right as Americans and give them back to us for a fee, we are just sheeple... give em an inch and theyll take a mile. the 2nd protects all the rest of our rights and our lives.

Tell that to the state of Maryland after you're stopped with a concealed firearm and loaded magazine next to you.Originally Posted by rtralabama

I agree with your stance in theory, but it doesn't change state law
