Haha it's an ongoing mod-resto. It cuts my grass, blows my snow, grades my land, tows my 18ft dual axle trailer around the yard to park it, and moves a metric **** ton of dirt/stone in its trailer...... Also tows the daughter and her wagon around at high speed

So I started to try to diagnose this 4PT issue.
Transfer case in 2WD, dash reading 4PT. Put the front in the air and spun the driver front wheel. It spun by itself, and also turned the front driveshaft.
Put the transfer case in 4PT, both wheels spin when I turned one as well as the driveshaft.
Does that sound like it's working correctly? I thought if it were in 2WD the front driveshaft should not spin at all but I could be wrong.

When u shift into 4wd, the mode hub engages the sprocket which drives the chain to the front output.

I personally spent a lot of time working with Brian from B. Lee's offroad. Ive been friends with Brian and have wheeled with him for the last 5 years...met him on here many years ago..
He started out building nothing but roof racks, then evolved into suspension and bumpers..
His 3 link kit has gained so much hype over the last 2 years and people all over the country are running it. The kit is second to none and you will not find anyone else who stands behind their product like Brian does.
To answer your question about a 3 link vs 4 link. Both are far superior to a radius arm setup in that there is no binding where in a radius arm setup there is at a certain point in the suspension cycle. A 4 link is a bit more to package under an XJ and really adds no benefit to the suspension. There are dozens (if not hundreds) of folks running the 3 link setup from Brian with no issues..Ive personally ran it on my DD and couldnt ever find anything to ***** about.
