2-3" is what I want. I'm also thinking 15x8 or 15x10 with a great all around off road tire. Perhaps BF AT's? Going to do it all at once come spring time.

P.S. (I dont want to hack the fenders!)

If you don't want to hack the fenders than you're stuck with a 31" tire or smaller. For a great all around tire, I'd recommend Duratracs but, I also HATE BFG a/t's.

Edit: General Grabber at2's are a great all around tire as well

Interesting, why do you hate the BFG's? and the main reason why I don't want to trim is because I'm scared of the grinder. I don't want to have a terrible hack job.

Do not buy Duratrac or BFG AT KO tires if you will be wheeling on rocks.

I love Duratracs on the road, the dirt, a little mud, especially in snow. But both of those tires I just named share the same paper-thin sidewall that will slice if you think about driving on gravel.

My favorite tire is the Firestone Destination MT. For the street, I like the Destination LE2. For a balanced tire, I like the Destination AT. Yeah, I like Firestone.

General Grabber also has great options. So do BFG, Mickey Thompson, and Nitto.

Read a lot and look at reviews from people who use the tires the way you plan to. When reading reviews, keep in mind a vehicle's weight will have a serious impact on performance and traction.

I hate BFG's because they suck ***, plain and simple. I like the old BFG mud terrains and the new KM2's seem to work good. I agree with Clown though, stay away from the Duratracs if you're going to be doing a lot of rock crawling, the sidewalls are less than impressive.

I had a set of destination M/T's that I siped myself (I work for a tire manufacturer) and they were pretty good. They were awful in the snow until I spied them but, they also had about 25% tread left when I got them

I've heard this from others, but I never had an issue in my Comanche. I'd have them on my YJ if they made them in a 37"/15

I just attributed the poor winter performance to the lack of tread. I've also had 3 sets of duratracs so I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to snow traction. I HIGHLY recommended anyone with mud tires to sipe them before winter. It makes a huge difference!

yep. Got sprayed in the back with some nice steel shot. Waders and heavy clothes absorb the impact from no more than 50 yards away.

Had ducks all around me on the water. Decided to shoot at a group of 4 landing into my decoys. Guys I ****ing informed of where I would be literally 30 mins ago shoot at the other birds around me when they lifted off. Standing me got peppered...bunch of schmuks giving waterfowlers a black eye. Cant wait to not live in this area....:furio us:
