Well, it was definitely an adventure. Rausch Creek May 7th, 2011.
All together, there was four Jeeps. A 1994 Cherokee that belongs to a guy I met on this forum, a 2003 Wrangler TJ, basically stock, that belongs to an old friend of my girlfriend, myself and my '96 Cherokee ...and ...while we were registering to ride, we hooked up with a guy and his family, running a 2008 Wrangler JK unlimited that was built to the hilt.
We were going to stick to green trails with some blue trail by-passes, but we ended up on quite a few black trails. A little more extreme for sure.
The 94 cherokee tore off his exhaust, and I snaped a u-joint on my front axle and in turn broke one of my upper control arms. We had access to parts and a shop, and did a mid-day trail repair, but it did not hold.
No worries, it was still an incredible day and loads of fun! Check out some of the pictures we got....

So yeah, after some repairs, and some beefing up on some under body protection and the drive train, I will be back up there again I'm sure!
Thank you to all those who came, and special thanks to Dan, his father, Dennis and Pablo for helping me, and my broken rig, out of the park and gettng back on the road again!
I cannot wait to do it it again!

I also did get a chance to upload a video. I do not know how to "embed" it here on this forum, but here is the link if y'all want to check it out.
And this is a link to the video made after I snapped my u-joint....

I am looking to replace my opper control arms due to this trip. See that there is two different ways to go..... One with a fixed bushing to the frame, or with with a flex joint on the frame...
Anyone running the flex jointed upper control arms on their XJ? Is it worth the extra money? moreover, does it still drive solid on the pavement for daily use?
