And if that d60 matches the Sterling, it's a 8x170mm bolt pattern. Pre-1999 is a better choice.
(Not saying it's weak, just not the better choice)

Uh... No sir. Rear 60's are worthless unless they're free. Fine for 37's, but I can't sell mine for $80...

The 05+ SD 60's are beef. I think that they will replace the KP's and really take off in the next two years. The 10.5 has 35 spline shafts that are 1.5" thick and a 10.5 ring gear that is massive. Factory disc brakes and a casting that is 1.5" smaller than a 14b. The only advantage I could give the 14b is the extra pinion bearing to reduce gear deflection, but that doesn't really matter unless you're jumping or racing the 10.5. Even then, my two friends running them in dirt riot and ECORS haven't had one issue... The front is 35 spline inner and outer, most 60's are not 35 spline outer. Huge brakes front and rear, seriously massive. 1.5" thick shafts, ball joints the size of coke cans - not sure why people ***** about 60 BJ's, I have seen WAY more cracked and broken KP's than I've ever heard about broken BJ's unless you're a Pirate jackstand wheeler, huge unit bearings, again- not an issue for a less than 5,000 lb rig plus they're stupid simple. The only negative I could give the front is that on the 05+'s is that they're radius arm and coil sprung from the factory. The passenger mounts are easy to cut off, the driver side, not so much. Artec has released a JK swap kit truss for them with minimal trimming and a TJ/ XJ kit will be released in the next few weeks.

The 99-04's arent that bad of an axle to build, just not as good as the 05+'s. And if you're worried about the 8x170 bolt pattern, there are thousands of wheels to run. I don't see how that is a con at all. Read pirate and research these axles. JP did a article on them too...

The 44/9 aren't THAT wide where they need to be narrowed. My friend is running a 9 in the rear of his XJ with a 30 still up front for the time being.

The waggy 44's can do 37's when built. They're LP but that's not a big issue to me really. For the price I would get both and run them. Swaps on a YJ is simple.

BTW if anyone has any other axles laying around or know of any lemme know. I need to get rid of my 35. I'd prefer an 8.25 but happy with anything bolt in.

There are different 9" axles, from around 57" to over 66"

After more reading and research, I'm considering a 14 bolt build for the rear. I came across Pirate's 14 bolt bible, and it sounds really tempting. I need to look into it more before I make a decision.

That Waggy44 from Craigslist turned out to be passenger drop
