Anyone here know how to set up gears and is familiar with d44's? OR can refer me to a shop that isnt going to charge out the ***.

there is a lot of labor associated with gear setup so it won't be cheap regardless of who does it

I doubt you will like snake dog then.
I would try some hard cider.
