After driving my aunts 04 camry for a week on my vacation hopping in the jeep to go to work was absolutely shocking. I felt 6 feet in the air and holy crap I hadn't realized how bad the steering and brakes had gotten.

Gonna order a durango steering box and the last few bits I need to swap the rear to discs.

Morning all, exciting day here. Headed out to Grimms to get me a pair of lifted coil springs for dirt cheap!

Anyone have an IRO long arm kit that I could ride in? I'm in the Germantown/Gaithersburg area, but I'd be willing to travel to nearby areas as well.

I would look elsewhere. I bought a IRO 5.5 LA kit and am steadily replacing it. What are you looking for out of a lift?

Just decent ride quality w/~4" of lift. I acquired my XJ with a basic Rusty's 3" lift and haven't gotten around to replacing it with something better until now. I hear reviews on how well long arms ride on the street and figured the IRO would be a good bet. I don't get to go wheeling all that often and this is more of a daily driver for me these days, I just cannot stand the jarring ride I get from the current setup. Anything that'll bump me up a tad (enough to clear 32/33" tires in the future) and that provides a better ride than now would be great.

Clayton, TNT, Full Traction, and Rock Krawler make the only off-the-shelf longarm kits I would recommend.

Hmm. Quick and dirty without knowing what shape the XJ is in i'd say for a smooth ride under 4" (worm) I would match something like this RE kit

http://www.quadratec.com/products/16300_818.htm

with a set of these:

http://www.seriousoffroadproducts.co...rs/5100-Series

There are a few other items you might want to consider such as replacing the track bar, installing a sye and shackle relocation brackets. These items all affect ride quality but it just depends on how far you want to take it. IMHO I don't think you need to go long arm.
