i wish they had removed the screws to make the doors removable, but alas they had not. It was a rental so i guess they don't trust people to not lose or break the doors.
I agree with them since someone in the past had already broken one side of the sunrider latches, severed one of the wind straps, and bent the corner of the tailgate where the hinges are, probably from installing the rear window bar wrong (plus the bar was on backwards when I got the truck). People who don't know how to operate a soft top should not be renting a soft top jeep...

I am guessing your company is USAA?
I have used them for the last 34 years, my dad for almost 60 years.
I used to love them but in the last ten years or so they have really sucked. They are still cheaper than anywhere else but I am not very thrilled with the decisions that shake out of different situations I have been involved with.
You probably know, but in MD they CAN NOT force you to give them your title. You have an absolute right to keep your title, so if they say you have to give it to them, tell them to Go F themselves.
They still have to pay you what ever the car repair would be minus your deductible and you can take your car and do what you want with it.

Everyone says USAA is a great company, but I've had bad experiences the majority of the time. Very disappointed, but they're the cheapest by far.

Dealership did the estimate, and they put it at 90% of the total loss threshold. Then on the way to Alex's shop, my TC split down the middle. I got a tow to his shop (under insurance), and I got my rental car from Enterprise which was already lined up due to the original collision.
I was told by both the insurance company and the rental place that I could have my car for 30 days, but I got a call after 6 days telling me to turn it in. I called the insurance company about having that extended due to the increased amount of damage, and Alex told them he could still repair it for the cost of the original estimate. I got a call this morning waking me up, telling me they want to reassess the damage, adjust the estimate, and probably total it out.
