Also I'm apparently missing 1/3 of my mechanical fan shroud.
I am as well. No issues overheating though. I have an open system. I've got an 88 with a closed system as well though and haven't had issues so far. It's also got 205k on it and the radiator has been painted.

I'm still having issues with overheating, I can sit at idle with the defroster blowing and the electric fan on.

System is properly filled with fluid
Missing my mechanical fan shroud
Mopar 195 thermostat
Water pump has less then 200 miles on it
Need to do hood vents(just to lower umderhood temps)

We agree this time. ZJ fan clutch upgrade. It is a wear part, and yours is shot if you haven't replaced it.
