Hey kuzican, I bet you didn't know you were throwing a grenade into the room when you suggested that our little club might want to do the parade thing.
I'm super new here and I don't even own a Jeep so maybe I'm out of order but what difference does it make if some people call this a club and others call it a thread with "club" in the name, a discussion board or whatever?
So far, I haven't seen any initiation rights, dues, allegiance swearing or blood brother requirements. What I have seen is that a few have decided to create a "club" and incorporate their club's identity into their avatars and signatures. I guess for those folks, a club was something they wanted to organize and good for them. For those of you who want this to be a club - I suppose it is. For those of you who say that it isn't - I'd say you're right.

No grenade....you have to understand it from my point of view. Because of my advocacy for more LEGAL wheeling, I cannot support ILLEGAL wheeling. I am not going to tell y'all what to do, but I cannot associate myself with a club the does. I CAN however, be a part of a THREAD on a FORUM for local guys....and what falls will fall and to each their own.
This is the ONLY reason this is an important distinction. It has nothing to do with CPO or avatars or anything with any other club, non club, organization, or whatnot. It only has to do with what I believe in.
I love the sport of offroading, and I would like to protect it. People here are not as concerned with that. So it is something we agree to disagree about.

It is a social club where all the members happen to own Jeeps. Concrete Pig Offroad. Ever been to Chris's? If you had, you would know where the name came from. It is fitting.
We are not a mystery, or anything special. We are friends, trying to organize something good. That's it.

i understand that. I refuse to go somewhere where I will get in trouble with cops, because I want to get into law enforcement. Bowie, we've already stated DNR doesn't care if we're back there. as for Bloody Ponds, I'm not sure yet. but so far, I've only done Bowie, 2 farms which I've had permission to be on, and soon trails road.
ahh ok.
ahh ok.
This is also an important distinction to me as well. A policy of non-enforcement does not equal express permission. Not trying to split hairs, only trying to explain where I am coming from. You could get all cozy going back there, and someday they COULD decide to enforce it.

because I brought it up before-- it's a good way to get together and help out a local organization without having to move furniture..:
Meet-n-Eat at Buffalo Wild Wing in College Park, 20 March, 7-10 p.m.
For anyone interested, the Laurel High School softball program is having a fundraiser at the College Park BeeDubs in order to raise a little money for new equipment. They'll take 15% of your bill (excluding alcohol) and donate it to the school. So, you get to eat, hang out, and donate money without having to dig into your pockets deeper. There's a flyer that you need to give them so they know that you are a part of the fundraiser, but for whatever reason, I can't upload it to here. So if you're interested, let me know and I can email it to you.

but, just cause we call this a club doesn't make it one really. it is definitely informal and all, which is it how it should be. I think if we could get a good group of us in a parade, would just be something cool to do, and different. show that wranglers aren't the only jeeps out there

very true. I definitely don't disagree with you.

Any time you can assist the local community is a good thing. Helps dispel the notion that Jeepers are all ignorant rednecks.
It's also just a good thing to do.
