I need to find a way to get that ZJ tie rod mounted cause the castle nuts get stuck after two threads, and then the mount spins. Once I get that on, I have to torque down every bolt I can find, and then I need to do a quick tape alignment, a test drive, and probably install a TC drop.


On the bright side of things..we really did get a lot of work done today. What is done looks great, and I'd be absolutely ecstatic about finishing if I wasn't so tired. Dukie's disconnects are awesome, and my new leaf springs have me excited to lower it down onto the tires.
And I just realized bumpstops don't really matter right now cause my tires already didn't rub at full stuff. I'm good until I put those 33s on, so that'll save me a little time here.

I had to use the castle nuts that came off the ZJ tie rod. The XJ castle nuts would not thread for some reason. You may want to make sure all the paint is out of the threads as well.

On the bump stop thing. You don't need no stinking bump stops. Just use screws like I have. Bump stops are over rated anyways...

 

--this is the good news!!

 

Torque leaf spring bolts and ubolts.
Mount rear shocks.
Install top bolt on front shocks.
Install axle side track bar bolt (it's stuck)
Torque down all track bar bolts.
Install used zj tie rod (tre bolt is spinning with castle nut.
Alignment.
Transfer case drop.

Thanks for the list, Brian. That's what I have written down here, too. ...Along with checking everything we touched for proper torque. If anyone's free tomorrow morning, I'll take the help. I'll be running (literally) over there in the morning for when they open at 9, and trying to rush through this as quickly as possible without taking any dangerous shortcuts. Hopefully this shouldn't take too long once the tie rod is on; it's just gonna be tedious. I think Silentj was right about the castle nuts.. I'm reading online that ZJ ones are 3/4" but I can't find the stock XJ size.

 

I can do a weekday just give me notice.

If you mean "what" are disco's? They are front swaybar disconnects. They allow for flex of the front axle during offroading.
If you a referring to "these" disco's, then you will be excited to know that our very own engineering genius Dukie has made his own disco's. They are very well made and very nicely priced. See above pic.
