The Mud-Terrain T/A KM ("KM" stands for Key benefit Mud traction) is BFGoodrich's Off-Road Maximum Traction light truck radial designed for pickup and sport utility vehicle driving enthusiasts looking for race-proven, off-road performance. The Mud-Terrain T/A KM is designed to deliver aggressive good looks along with serious off-road traction and steering control on slick surfaces, as well as in deep dirt and mud.
The Mud-Terrain T/A KM features an advanced tread compound molded into a symmetric tread pattern comprised of large interlocking center tread blocks and alternating width "DiggerLugz" that extend over the tire's shoulders to provide the clawing necessary to dig down, as well as work against the sides of muddy ruts for added pulling power. The computer-optimized, high-void tread design generates less noise than BFGoodrich's original Radial Mud-Terrain T/A, and provides a larger and more rectangular footprint to further enhance rock climbing and slick surface traction. The Mud-Terrain T/A KM tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts on top of BFGoodrich's TriGard (3-ply polyester cord sidewall plies) construction for strength and durability. The BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 (KM for Key feature: Mud traction and 2 identifying it as BFGoodrich's 2nd generation KM tire) is an Off-Road Maximum Traction tire developed for off-roaders driving full-sized, lifted trucks that participate in rock climbing and/or other challenging off-road driving. The Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 is designed from the mud up to overcome almost any obstacle in its path by combining more traction and mud-clearing ability than its predecessor with a smoother ride and less road noise than normally expected from an aggressive tire.
The Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 molds an off-road tread compound into a Krawler T/A KX-inspired symmetric design that features deep, self-cleaning independent tread blocks and linear transverse flex zones that provide the elasticity needed to allow the tire to conform to off-road obstacles when aired-down and driven at low speeds.
The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts and BFGoodrich's Krawler TEK sidewalls and carcass. Krawler TEK consists of three components that include aggressive sidewall lugs, cut- and chip-resistant sidewall compounds and BFGoodrich's TriGard carcass (three-ply polyester construction) with sidewall cords that are up to 33 percent stronger than the previous Mud-Terrain T/A KM tire. That's true too. Usually it's the speed rating but I guess they could make tires to handle different loads but I've never seen that. Sounds more like some thing a commercial tire would benefit from.

 

so I have a number of things to do today. Change the oil on the blue jeep, and put the new shoes on. Hopefully it will be enough to not look like a volvo no more?

 

My Thule key came...I was able to move my crossbars...so now I can install my sunroof....yay!

My muffler came....my fan shroud came....my tailpipe came....
