I have one, not installed, gonna be going to Jimmy cause I'm picking up a bolt-in MJ D44 on Sunday. 8.8 is a good axle, often with disc brakes, limited slip, and 3.55/3.73/4.10 options.

Yeah, found one on JF for $250, 4.10 gears that in thinking about for TJ bc it has 35 rear. With 33s, 5 sp and 4", I think 4.10 might still be low, but still looking into that. I was thinking about going to 4.56 on TJ too bc im gonna need to re-gear the front when I put the 8.8 on

I'm going 4.10s with a 5 speed and 33s - should be good balance between power and economy driving it every day

It's in near perfect condition.

lol, pudgy, if I ever go doorless you can have mine.
Ah yes.. Ive wanted an sm for so long!

Almost rear ended a car like 20 min ago.... Slammed on their brakes and so did I but I just slid...luckily I let off the brakes just in time to swerve around them and over a curb and almost a tree...yikes

Ditch the 35. An 8.8 is a readily available (Explorers) axle, only about 1" narrower, and the 4.10s would be fine with a 5spd on 33s.

I won't get on your back about having one, but I don't like them. It's just my opinion.

Sweet. I'm sure there are a **** ton of write ups on it, but how hard would it be to swap into the TJ (how long/how much exp req, etc...)

Not sure about a TJ, but I'm guessing you'd have to cut and weld shock mounts and springs perches.

I like both, they have pros and cons, but until I can get the warden into something else to DD and I get a new lift and tires and other wish list things, the XJ is her's and won't be wheeled much. Unless I go somewhere where ATs won't leave me spinning in a rut..
