I'll be using my XJ main leaf and the 3 long Dakota leafs (cut to size) with liners and anti-friction paint. That combo should yield 3-4" of super flexy awesome along with shackles and relocation boxes.

If you added the Datoka overload spring (which is like 1/2" thick ) you could probably get a solid 4" or more out of it. It all depends on the pack construction and spring condition, theres no way to tell for sure.

And holy crap i hate to see the thickness of the AAL that gives you 4.5" lift, must ride like poop

ok so, seeing as most peeps interested are from around Bmore, and in the interest of getting the most people possible to attend, I say we make the meet in Columbia tomorrow at about 7:30/8 till whenever. That way traffic will have died down and people can get out of work and such. I'd love to make it the new Frisco's joint but I'm just too afraid there won't be enough parking so...

Meetup this Wednesday (6/8) at 7:30pm (ish)
2nd Chance Saloon (heard good things - ample parking)
5888 Robert Oliver Place, Ste A, Columbia, MD (next to Food Lion off Stevens Forest Rd)

Sound good? Reply if you plan to attend. Also coordinating with peeps from JeepForum.

Yeah the leaf pack is pretty thick with the AAL in there. Had to get new u-bolts of course, but I doesn't ride all that bad. Main thing I hate is the drop shackles and the lack of flex from the packs. My shackles pop around hard corners and in rear flexy positions. Anyone else have this going on? Not really a problem, more annoying than anything.

yea, that's an issue with AALs, and why I don't recommend them to anyone. They're cheap but the performance sucks. The popping is from the pack trying to slide. Did you add any sort of liners at the end of the AAL between it and the main pack? Or at least paint/grease?

I put new friction pads on the ends of the AAL's, but that was probably 2 years ago and I never had the popping until I put the shackles in. Thought it was from those. Guess it's time to invest in full packs.

True, but I think you said you were using those as park of your current pack, or perhaps I misunderstood. Is this really all that much better than AAL? I kinda suck at the whole leaf spring deal, help me out man. Thanks

yes, because you have multiple skinny springs instead of one thick spring. More springs = more flex and a smoother ride (not as stiff)

mmm yea i'm looking for ones that came off intact. Your's will likely need to be cut off, as will mine. Need an intact main leaf for my bastard pack to put new bushings in.

My Jeep when I first bought it in November 2010. Its extra stock! The only changes I've made were update the stereo and installed one of KFXHellraiser's sub box setups. That's was what originally brought me to the site. The lift, wheels, and tires are up next...Once I get that I'd love to come out sling some mud. I got a wife and 2 girls so I won't be able to come out as often as I would like, so I plan on having some fun when I do! Quality not quantity...
