is it bad to take the rad out and flush it with Dawn dish soap? its what all the guys at my dads work do.

 

Long as you leave no residue behind....and as long as it is dawn...I see no problem.

 

I don't see the point of the dish soap, your dealing with coolant and rusty scale build up, not oily residue.

If you can read and understand pictures you are golden. Instructions are on the back of the package. Stroll into wally world and take a look at it. If you feel you can do it after reading through the directions go for it! It would be another notch in your JEEP belt not to mention you would have one up on shirley

With Dawn I think you could. It is used on wild animals for this reason. It comes off easy with little to no residue.

 

did you ask them about cleaning the inside or outside?

 

when we did it to the ford there were no more bubbles or anything showing dawn left. and it wasnt rusty it was just really dirty for some reason. and we used a flush kit in the coolant for about 100 moles and drained it all and put fresh coolant in.

I do second the CLR...seems to make more sense in this instance. I don't think the dawn will harm it...my opinion....but if there are no benefits.....
