The radio out of a 97+ will not work in a 96 and older. The dash changed completely. The 97+ radio is a1.5din chrysler stock, the 96 and older is a 1din non chrysler.

hay guys crazy rays down marlyneck road has like 20 cherokees in many differnt states 70% are grands the other are cherokees, even sall the old classic looking ****rs here, got rear socks for 14 bucks

A) Yes you can trim down coil spacers. I have 2" and 3/4" depending on what you are looking for and would trade?

B) 84-96 are single DIN radios, 97-01 are DIN 1/2, so they are NOT interchangeable. Yes, Mine will work in a 96 and has a Casette! WOOHOO!

Anyone need any more info?
