Add an oil pump and oil pan gasket to that list. No use trying to start it without dropping the pan and replacing the oil pump. That will also give everyone an idea on the condition of the crank bearings and rings (metal in the pan or on oil pump screen) May want to think about replacing the rear main oil seal why pan is down.... Looking at +/- $100 in parts to get that done....may not need a full rebuild....

the RMS usually fails around 145xxx from what iv read, and shes clocked at 118xxx, so I agree. Better to spend a little extra now then have to park her AGAIN a few months down the road.

Your lucky I check into facebook once in a while. I saw something that was pretty ****ty this morning (You know what I am talking about, as in WTF) Kinda makes things come together in my mind....

Also, a good word of advise, don't post your personal issues on Facebook or Forums.....don't want to give any individuals any ammo if you know what I mean...

oh ok even better. Not really necessary though. Your intact ones didn't look worn out and the wear patterns on the valve stems didn't indicate there was anything wrong with them.

I agree we really need to drop the oil pan and replace that stuff...not looking forward to that job though it's a PITA from what I've heard to get the pan out.

Hopefully we do have a few people though - looks like multiple things could be happening at once.

250k and mines still truckin. It leaks a little I think, but not bad at all. Could be coming from the oil filter adapter also...

238K on mine and it is coming from the valve cover.....
I figure if you are going to drop an oil pan, might as well go ahead and replace it while you are in there....

The way we are going with the 89, it'll take me a year to get to where you are at now

On a good note, just got permission from the Wifey to order the rest of the parts I need to wrap up the front and rear diffs. Also sold the 8K winch, getting a 12K instead.

Looks like I'll be locked and geared for RC next month

Then looks like I get to start a new build thread with hers....
