although I am stocking up on recovery gear, went to HF and snagged a tow hook for the rear and a 30 ft strap.
Also picked up that ball joint/u-joint press kit.

looking for a place to camp with the woman. I don't want state parks or KOA bs. Preferably someplace I can drive the xj back to so she doesn't have to hike too far. I had run the idea of a few miles on the AT and she did not seem too happy about it lol
any suggestions?

after i factor wheel size versus stock, im getting 14.3. and i still havent done a tune up...
i thought they closed down the loop at GR...
--they are--but he asked for a place to camp--do keep in mind, that even though the "ORV" loop is closed--there are miles upon miles of dirt roads views-n-vistas in Green Ridge, not to mention the C&O Canal trail and the mighty Potomac River!!!

I had considered Greenridge but its state run so if you want alkyhol you gotta pay the state $35 to be able to. Not too keen on that idea. I know they have the 44 mile self guided tour. Is it paved? Never been and the misses might be interested in that. as far as camping I am content with no services. I have no problem hauling my trash and waste out, I just dont want yuppies and their barking dogs and screaming kids to be anywhere near me and like I said not have to pay the state an extra $35 on top of the liquor tax I already paid at the store...
