Power runs through the scanner, so one of those will be hot, jumping it probably isn't a good idea, leads from it also go into your computer. Heres the wires you need to trace. They are all ground wires and are very important. Your jeep relys on these ground wire to do things like fire injectors, send spark, etc. Take them off the dipstick and clean and sand the connections, re-install and try for spark.

there should be a support from the dipstick tube that is bolted to the block. that is where the grounds are. not where the dipstick actually goes in.

No support but there are grounds onto the block and they look OK. Someone told me there may be some kind of reset fuse in the rear of the truck

Where is the cps on that motor. First jeep so I'm learning. Starting to think the ecu is bad being I have no spark no fuel and have to jump wires to make the coil and fuel pump have power

Crank POS. Sensor in in the top of the trans bellhousing, on the drivers side. That jeep uses those ground wires on the dipstick tube stud to give fuel and spark..........

Obvioisly if you dont have grounds where you are supposed to, nothing is going to work right.

No spark, no power to the coil or fuel pump.
Ain't the cps. Ignition switch, or a relay in the realy center. You've checked all your fuses?
