X2, does anyone know if there is a specific WNY section in the regional area forum on here??? too lazy to look right now.

There are a good 15-20 other XJ's rollin' around hamburg. Don't know them but give them the "ol' Jeep wave & nod" when i see them.....

I thought i heard something about an offroad park in Rochester or something? anyone know?

Hey, memerx24 I am pretty sure I have an issue with my front eye bolts. Probably more serious than yours had cause I can see daylight through the little access hole in the frame. All I have sure access to is a little 90Amp Harbour Freight welder. Will I have to get my hands on a bigger welder to do what you did??
Have experiance preping for welding, but not welding itself

--- I think there might be a trail for offroaders in Clarance, on Stage Rd, by an old quarry. I remember a bunch of trucks hanging out there, and I still see full size tracks heading down that way. Next time I see someone there I will stop.

I havent begun tackling the leaf springs, so I dont have pics yet. I only have part of every other weekend to work on it, and its my DD, so I like to have all my tools covered before I start. Think I am gonna have to have a bigger welder on standby, that means setting up a 220 line.
The issue Ive been having is a huge weight shift and thump from rear when I brake especially while on a downward incline. No Brainer -- tranny or motor mounts-- well already replaced those, and had a close look at the differential. Changing complete drum brake system right now.
I have already begun PB Blasting everything for the lift, and like I said, when I peak through that hole in the frame toward the front eye bolt, I see the rusty tip of the bolt on one side, and the other I see the rusty bolt and some daylight around the area that the nut would be.
When I do the job I will find out what I am dealing with. seams like I am gonna have to do something similar to what you show on the first page of this thread. At that time I will start a thread, or find one dealing with that issue.
