Somerville here. Not much chance for wheeling, gotta take a bit of a drive, although I know of some trails back in the south shore area where I grew up.

Never been down there, we'd always just mess around on Rocky Woods or Glebe, and a few trails off of 44.

Off 44? Is that Freetown state forest? Trails out there go for miles.plenty of sites to see, theres a random 300' diameter sand pit in the middle if the woods, mud bogs and massive rock hills

No one from Chelsea. I figured that. I'm new to the boards just got my jeep hoping to lift it and put some real tires on it before the first big snow. Want to go on a snow run. Just wondering on how you guys lift your rigs and keep it legal. Isn't mass. Law 2 inches of total lift. Cause what I'm looking for is a 4 1/2 RC lift with 31s. But I'm being told that's ilegal to run on the street. Can someone give me some input please. Really want to be able to drive it on the street too.

Default Off Roading club?

Awesome to see so many people from Ma here, im in central MA, Gardner area. I know the Greenfield area pretty well too, saw quite a few from Belchertown etc, great area.
Was thinking about trying to get some kind of off roading club started round here, either just a central ma, or ma in general, like a lot of people said, road trips are fun. Anyone interested in getting something together let me know, id like to start organizing some trips. Thanks

Hey I'm a mass state inspector and the 2 inch suspension law only applies to 2wd vehicles. Meaning u can only raise or lower your car 2 inches in either direction. 4wd drive trucks are different there's actaully a length x width formula to determined the amount of lift that u can have but no one is actually gonna measure your whealbase and do a bunch of math when there giving u a sticker. I run an 8 inch lift with 36 inch tires on my Cherokee and I've never had a problem with the law about it.

Alright Massachusetts. I have lived here on and off for three years, but only got my jeep in April, then moved to Nashville for a few months. Back again and wondering where to go with it? I am in the Northampton area. Any jeepers around here who can recommend clubs, etc would be much appreciate!

Depends what's is causing it and what your lift comes with. I had dw before lifting mine and the lift toatally cured it because it was caused by my control ARM bushings being wiped out and they were replaced with new long arms and new bushings. But there are other things that can cause dw you just gotta get under there and start looking around. Good luck.

Check out "jeep new england" on Facebook. It's something a friend of mine put together a couple months ago.
