Now I have a 76 Cherokee Chief S thats already got 38s and D60s Im building for a fun toy. I have a little fun but dont bash up my Xj (its a 1985, not easy to find a Non-Chrysler Xj) As for motor, yes i swapped it to a IH tractor motor but not for HP or speed but Low end TQ instead. Shes not the fastest but pulls like a diesel. In short, everyones Xj here is different in one way or another and built based on need.
Morning just because its saturday dont mean theres not something needs fixing on the jeep.

still has the misfire on cyl 1. ruled out plugs and wires last night. today i'll hopefully be checking cap, rotor and if i have to injector. if that doesn't work i'll do a compression test.

started a few days after replacing rotor, cap, plugs and wires. It ran like new for about 4 days and then it randomly started one night. now it only does it when the engine is hot though. it runs great when the engine is cold.Originally Posted by freegdr

Could be a defective plug or the injector is heat soaked.Originally Posted by freegdr

Problem might be in the cam sensor inside the distributor. sfcherokeeguy had his go out where two cylinders weren't firing properly.Originally Posted by BKohs
I already swapped plugs around and the problem stays on cyl 1.
