Check the wires and make sure there isnt a short or bad connection.

What's the voltage at the battery?
Then check the voltage before and after the solenoid while cranking!(or try to crank at least)
What is it before and after while cranking @ the solenoid? If its 10-12 volts on the out side(solenoid to the starter), it probably is the wiring going to the starter or one of the ends has a bad connection.
If you need battery cable, let me know, I have tons of scrap here and can get you the ends also. I redid all my wires for the starter, alternator, and fuse/relay panel and it made a big difference, and I didn't have an issue, just for piece of mind...

Need to find someone to help you crank while checking, sometimes this is the hard part...the help thing

The jeep sat for 5 days before it was started again. My dad said it started sometimes throughout a 12 day period. The battery has 12 volts constantly. Yesterday it started on a jump but the starter sounded bad. Replaced the starter and cleaned all the contacts. After changing the starter started flawlessly all day yesterday. This morning, dead again. 12 volts on the battery. Started on a jump. I go to school. Get here this morning at school. Turn it off. With the headlight switch on, no gauge lights. No attempt to start. Headlight switch in, gauge lights and an attempt to start. Still the starter clicks. I dunno what to do! At a loss
any other questions to aid you in a suggestion, lemme know. The plan is to bring to the local jeep guy because I'm at a dead road. The strange part is, before leaving for 13 days, it was strong blooded and a strong heart. Sits for 5 days and then this problem. I dunno! Help!!!!

Go to an audio shop and get like 10 ft of 4 gauge. That should be enough for your alternator as well while your at it. It will probably cost around $15. Get some ring terminals for the 4 gauge while your at it (25c a pop). Replace the wire and see if it helps. Sounds like your getting voltage to the starter, just low voltage.
You can also make a sweet battery/engine ground using some black 4 gauge.
Also, check your engine ground, the ribbon on the back, the starter can't ground if the engine isn't.

He don't need to buy anything, I have all the battey cable he would need to do this, I have already upgraded all mine and it made a hugh difference in the way the jeep starts...
